RIPAT – Rural Integrated Participatory Agricultural Transformation

RIPAT – Rural Integrated Participatory Agricultural Transformation

RIPAT – Rural Integrated Participatory Agricultural Transformation was invented in the 1990s by RECODA, Tanzania and its partners, PULS – help to self-help. RIPAT is working with the small-scale farmers to form RIPAT groups, in which farmers get assistance to collaborate, save and learn agroforestry practices. In the 2000s the Rockwool Foundation helped streamlining the approach.
Please find presentations of the principles by the founding fathers of the approach, Dr. Dominick Ringo and Dr. Jens Vesterager. Below you also find a 2023-evaluation and the November 2023 report assessing the RIPAT methodology by Jes Colding for the Blue Marsch Society. See more about the RIPAT approach at RECODA’s website:https://recoda.or.tz/ In 2024 DFM initiated a learning exchange amongst Danish organisations and their partners practicing RIPAT, aiming to green the RIPAT approach even more.
